From sparkling houses in Yountville to hilltop estates in Calistoga, Napa Valley has more dog-friendly wineries than most visitors realize — but "dog-friendly" is a spectrum, not a switch. Some estates welcome leashed pups across the full grounds and picnic lawns. Others allow dogs only on an outdoor patio, or only at seated outdoor tastings by appointment. A handful say yes on quiet weekdays and no on packed Saturdays. Almost none allow dogs inside the tasting bar itself, even when the patio is fine. Because policies shift constantly — new ownership, seasonal rules, one bad experience with a bigger dog — we personally vet every winery we tour with, call ahead each visit, and confirm your dog is expected at the door. The list below is split into two: estates we currently book and drive to on our private Napa tours, followed by widely reported dog-friendly candidates worth considering when you plan your own visit.

One of the few Napa properties where a dog can genuinely settle in rather than stay glued to your side. Leashed pups are welcome across the picnic grounds.
