I’m Nigel Cartwright. I plan the route, book the tastings, drive the day, and pour nothing myself. Being a one-man operation is the point: the person you email is the person who opens the car door.

What a private tour includes

Your own guide

I host every tour personally. No rotating drivers, no script, no upsell at each stop.

A route built for you

Three or four wineries chosen around your taste — big Cabernet, quiet family estates, sparkling, or a bit of each. Changed on the day if the mood shifts.

Reservations handled

I book every tasting in advance and confirm the details, including your dog, so nobody is negotiating at a host stand.

Dogs genuinely welcome

Every winery I route is one I have personally vetted as dog-friendly. Water, treats and a branded bandana included.

Private wine tour pricing

Half day

4 hours · 2–3 wineries

$400

Flat, up to two guests. +$50 per additional guest.

Full day

6 hours · 3–4 wineries + lunch

$600

Flat, up to two guests. +$50 per additional guest.

Tasting fees are paid at each winery, usually $30–$60 per person. A 50% deposit holds the date and the balance is settled at the end of your tour. Full detail on the pricing page.

01What makes this a private wine tour?
You are the only booking of the day. No shared van, no strangers, no fixed route. I guide every tour myself, so the person who plans your day is the person who drives it.
02How much does a private wine tour cost?
Half day (4 hours) is $400 flat for up to two guests. Full day (6 hours) is $600 flat, up to two guests. Add $50 per guest beyond two. Pickup within 15 miles of Napa is included; beyond that it's $0.70 per mile plus tolls, confirmed with you first.
03Are tasting fees included?
No — those are paid at each winery, usually $30–$60 per person. I choose estates that look after my guests: several offer two-for-one tastings, and most waive the fee entirely with a bottle purchase or a club sign-up.
04Can I bring my dog on a private wine tour?
Yes — that is the whole point of what I do. Every winery I route is one I have personally vetted as dog-friendly, and water, treats and a branded bandana for your dog are included.
05How far ahead should I book?
Minimum 48 hours, and earlier is better — I take one group per day, so dates go. Tours start between 9:30am and 11:00am; you pick the time inside that window.
06Where do you pick up from?
Your hotel, rental, or home. Pickup within 15 miles of the Napa depot is included in the price, and I confirm anything further with you personally before you book.
