San Francisco to Napa Wine Tour with Your Dog
Door-to-door from the city, your dog along for every stop, one group a day. Nigel drives, we plan the route, and we only book wineries that genuinely welcome dogs.
You’re visiting wine country from the city
You have a dog with you, and the options are thin: board him for the day, leave him in a hotel room, or skip wine country altogether. None of those is the trip you came for.
The other way: we pick you up at your door in San Francisco, your dog rides along, and you spend the day at wineries that actually want him there. One group a day, door-to-door, dog included.
How the day runs from the city
Earliest pickup is 10:00am and the last tasting of the day starts by 4:00pm. The drive to Napa is roughly 60–90 minutes depending on traffic and which town we’re heading for; Sonoma is closer, often 45–60 minutes.
Here’s the honest tradeoff: a San Francisco start means fewer stops than a Napa start. The drive eats into the day, so a typical day buys either three wineries with unhurried tastings, or two wineries and a relaxed lunch — you pick, and you’re only we quote the complete trip personally.
That’s a slower, more deliberate day — and honestly a better one. Fewer rooms, more time at each, and a relaxed drive home with a tired, happy dog.

Where we pick up
Anywhere in San Francisco — hotels, short-term rentals, and private homes. We drop you back at the same address at the end of the day, round-trip.
Tell us your pickup address and we’ll send your price. A 50% deposit reserves your date. The balance, plus any extra time, is charged to your card on file at the end of the tour day.The full rate structure is on the pricing page.
What your dog’s day looks like
Riding in the SUV
A clean, cool cabin with a blanket on the seat and chilled water. The drive out is part of the day, not a chore — your dog settles in and watches the hills roll by.
Patios and lawns, not tasting bars
Every stop is a room we’ve vetted for dogs — outdoor patios, lawns, and seated pours where your pup can lie at your feet. Indoor tasting bars stay off the route.
Your dog comes along
Water and treats are always in the car. Your dog is a guest, not an afterthought.
The Barkuterie Box
Optional, and a favorite: a charcuterie-style snack board built for sharing with your dog, served at a patio stop. Add it when you inquire and we’ll bring it.
Napa or Sonoma from the city
Sonoma
Closer to San Francisco and the easier drive. Historic plaza tasting rooms, rustic ranch estates, and a more casual, dog-forward feel. If you want the shortest commute and the most relaxed day, Sonoma is the call.
